No – if you choose the ‘Growth’ category, you are only required to spend 21 days in the country over a three-year period. If you choose the ‘Balanced’ category, you are required to spend 105 days over five years (even though this can be truncated by a greater level of active investment).

The Active Investor Plus Visa requires a minimum investment of NZD $5 million or NZD $10 million, depending on the pathway you choose. The Growth Category requires NZD $5M over three years with 21 days spent in New Zealand, while the Balanced Category requires NZD $10M over five years and a 105-day presence (this can be truncated to as low as 63 days if certain investment conditions are met).
For context, at current exchange rates, this equates to approximately USD $2.8M–$5.7M, though the visa requirements are officially based in NZD.
